- The real estate developers Townscape and Sassenscheidt announce the start of construction work on ‘Lido’ at Lindauer Hafen in Leipzig
- HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG purchases the residential project in Leipzig for one of its open-ended special property funds
- Completion of the 72 apartments is scheduled for 2020
Berlin, 5 February 2019: In parallel with the start of construction work, the ‘Lido’ housing project in Leipzig developed by the Townscape Group and Sassenscheidt has now been sold to the Hamburg-based company HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG.
72 apartments containing two to five rooms are being constructed in Leipzig’s new city district, Lindenauer Hafen. They will offer areas of between 50 and 120 square metres and all feature a loggia or a terrace. The location is particularly attractive due to its peaceful setting directly next to the harbour basin and its good connections to the nearby city centre.

The ‘Lido’ plot covers an area of just under 4,000 square metres. A total of four 4-storey blocks containing a total of 72 rental apartments and with a total area of 6,022 square metres are being constructed. Plans are in place to install bicycle parking spaces and cellar rooms in the basements of the buildings. The underground car park offers 61 parking spaces. The developers have announced that completion of the project is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020. ‘Lido’ is based on plans by the architecture firm RKW Architektur + from Düsseldorf.
