Every new year should start with some good news. So we’re particularly pleased to welcome Thomas Schiffer as the new managing director of our Group.

Thomas has already been a permanent fixture in our team since 2016 and has successfully headed the Technical Project Development department for three years now. In his new role as managing director, he will remain responsible for this area. In addition, he’ll be able to draw on his many years of experience even more strongly to drive the further development of our corporate processes and to actively help shape Townscape during these challenging times.

Thomas Schiffer: “To ensure that our projects run as smoothly as possible, we need tightly-knit coordination processes and short communication channels. We regularly exchange information directly and in team meetings, which is the most straightforward way for us to coordinate matters whilst maintaining an open exchange. I see this as an important building block of our success. The coronavirus pandemic and the associated contact restrictions have, of course, also changed our usual day-to-day work and required us to adjust all our usual coordination processes. We have adapted our internal communications accordingly and integrated the digital options already available more strongly into our everyday working life. What’s more, we also work from home more often. Fortunately, this did not harm our team spirit – on the contrary: I believe that the common challenges we have faced in recent months have further strengthened our solidarity, which has enabled us to continue ongoing projects as planned and even initiate new ones. We have ambitious plans for 2021, and although we’re uncertain as to what lies ahead, I’m optimistic about the new year. I have no doubt that with our well-attuned team, we will master any future challenges as well.”
