  • The real estate company Townscape One invests more than 24 million euros
  • New commercial space covering more than 9,000 square metres is being developed
  • A second plot in the neighbourhood has also been acquired

Berlin, 10 January 2017: The real estate developer Townscape One is constructing a new office building on the border between the Berlin districts of Mitte and Wedding, not far from Bernauer Straße and the new headquarters of the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND). In the project ‘GROW’, more than 9,000 square metres of space for offices, cafés, restaurants and event areas are being developed at Scheringstraße 1. Planning permission has now been granted.

The building will cover a total of six floors. Its five office floors will be freely configurable and able to be flexibly adapted to suit the needs and spatial requirements of their tenants. The company Jones Lang LaSalle is responsible for marketing the space created.

Construction work on the development will begin in the first quarter of 2017, and the building is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2018. Townscape One is investing more than 24 million euros in the project.

Henrik Sassenscheidt, managing partner of the Townscape One Group, reports, ‘We believe in this location close to the Volkspark Humboldthain park and are confident that it will experience extreme growth and development in the future. For this reason, the development, which is being supported by a Swiss family office, will be transferred directly into our portfolio upon completion. We have also purchased another plot on the corner of Max-Urich-Straße/Ackerstraße.’ This second development is currently still at the concept development stage.
