  • The project name: ‘Lido Leipzig’

Berlin, 9 July 2018: Under the project name of ‘Lido’ (standing for Lindenauer Docks), the companies Sassenscheidt and Townscape are developing a housing construction on lot 8 of the Lindenauer Hafen site in Leipzig as a joint venture. They have now been granted planning permission for the development. The project is based on plans by the architecture firm RKW Architektur +.

The plot is located in Leipzig’s new city district, Lindenauer Hafen, and is situated directly next to the harbour basin and canal. The apartments, which contain two to five rooms and offer areas between 50 and 120 square metres, feature modern floorplans and all have a balcony or terrace.

Sebastian Grabianowski, managing partner of Townscape, reports, ‘Here in Leipzig’s Lindenauer Hafen, a new city district that offers excellent living standards thanks to its close proximity to the water and many leisure opportunities is being developed. We are pleased that we can now start to make our housing project “Lido Leipzig” a reality.’

Erik Sassenscheidt, managing director of Sassenscheidt GmbH & Co. KG: ‘Leipzig is currently experiencing strong demand for rental apartments. Lindenauer Hafen is an attractive place to live that offers excellent connections to Leipzig city centre and a location that is central but nonetheless in a green setting.’

The plot covers a total area of 3,976 square metres. A total of four 4-storey blocks containing a total of 72 rental apartments and with a total area of 6,022 square metres are being constructed. Plans are in place to install bicycle parking spaces and cellar rooms in the basements of the buildings, while an underground car park will offer 61 parking spaces. Construction work on the project is scheduled to start this year, and completion of the development is planned for the third quarter of 2020.
